As the Wales family settles into their new home, Princess Kate is entering a period of reflection and renewal that mirrors the changes unfolding within the royal household.
On Saturday, November 15, the Princess of Wales released a new two-minute video across her social media channels. It is the third instalment in her ongoing “Mother Nature” series and arrives at a particularly meaningful moment for the family.
In the piece, titled “Autumn”, Kate reflects on the lessons found in the shifting season. Her narration is gentle and contemplative as she speaks about the beauty of change, the inevitability of impermanence, and the value of letting go.
“With the turning of the seasons, Mother Nature teaches us there’s beauty to be found in change, in impermanence, and in letting go. These are the natural cycles of life,” she says.
Filmed by her longtime collaborator Will Warr, the video blends sweeping forest scenery with moments of Kate cooking outdoors alongside British chef Gill Meller and a group of children. The falling amber leaves echo the themes of release and introspection woven through her voiceover.

“As the days grow shorter and the shadows grow longer, the energy of summer withdraws into autumn. This is the season for reflection and refinement,” she says. “Trees shed their canopies in preparation for winter. Just as we learn to let go of what is no longer needed.”
Her closing message is the most striking.
“Whilst the blossoms fall and the colours fade, the roots grow deeper, stronger. Let love be the root that holds us, the light that guides us, with hope through change. Endure.”
Her caption accompanying the video reads, “Autumn, a season of reflection, growth and deeper connection. Embrace the beauty found in change as we prepare for winter’s rest.” It is signed only with the letter C.
A New Home and a New Phase for the Wales Family
Kate’s message comes as she and Prince William, along with their three children, leave behind Adelaide Cottage and settle into Forest Lodge in Windsor. Described by insiders as their long-term and possibly permanent family home, Forest Lodge represents a major step in the couple’s future plans. They are expected to remain there even after William eventually succeeds to the throne.
Change Across the Royal Household

While the Wales family is finding its rhythm in their new surroundings, the broader royal family is also navigating significant shifts. King Charles has reportedly instructed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to vacate Royal Lodge, the residence he has occupied for decades, as part of a wider effort to distance the institution from scandal.
Andrew has come under renewed scrutiny following the release of new evidence connected to his association with Jeffrey Epstein. The royal family later confirmed that he would be stripped of all titles and honours. He is now formally known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Kate makes no reference to this in her video, but her themes of letting go and strengthening one’s roots carry a quiet resonance with the changes taking place behind palace walls.
Kate’s Continued Return to Public Life
The release of the autumn video also marks another step in Kate’s gradual return to public duties following her cancer treatment in 2024. Her earlier “Mother Nature” entries explored healing, resilience and the restorative power of the natural world.
“Over the past year, nature has been my sanctuary,” she said in the first instalment released during Mental Health Awareness Week. “The natural world’s capacity to inspire us, to nurture us, and to help us heal and grow is boundless.”
With her latest message, Kate continues to shape a gentle but meaningful narrative as she moves forward, both personally and publicly, in this renewed chapter of her life.
