Meghan Markle is giving fans a rare peek into her family’s cozy Montecito life — including sweet details about Archie, Lilibet, and even Prince Harry’s secret hobby in the garden.
As Thanksgiving approaches, Meghan revealed that the Sussex household has been busy gathering fresh herbs from their sprawling backyard for the holiday menu. The update came through a new newsletter from her lifestyle brand As ever, where she introduced her latest product: Sage Honey with Honeycomb.
According to the newsletter, the purple “lavender” fields seen in Meghan’s Instagram photos earlier this year were actually flowering sage, a Santa Barbara varietal she has grown in abundance. Sage, they noted, is one of Meghan’s personal favorites.
The message also painted a vivid picture of the family’s daily rituals outdoors:
Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, racing through the rows of herbs; Harry checking on the bees he tends; and the dogs, Pula and Mia, tumbling after each other in the sunshine. These simple, sun-drenched moments, the newsletter said, have become the heart of their home life.
Meghan has been using sage not just in cooking but as gifts for friends, infused oils, and even perfume for a special batch of honey from Harry’s backyard beehives — a hobby he has quietly cultivated. Inspired by these rituals, As ever created its newest offering: a rich, aromatic sage honey designed to elevate Thanksgiving dishes, from turkey glazes to vinaigrettes or even a spoonful in tea.
For $32 a jar, fans can now try the same honey Meghan enjoys at home — and even recreate her personal recipe, the As ever Sage Honey Glaze, made with mustard, lemon juice, spices, and stock.
Thanksgiving in Montecito, Meghan shared in an interview with Marie Claire, is intentionally “low-key.” Her mother, Doria Ragland, lives nearby and always joins, as do friends who have no family to celebrate with — a tradition Meghan says means a lot to her.
Last year, the open-door policy brought feminist icon Gloria Steinem to their holiday table — a visit that became one of Meghan’s favorite Thanksgiving memories.
But above all, the duchess said the holiday is about making things magical for Archie and Lilibet. Now that they’re old enough to understand the festivities, she says each year feels more special:
“At first, as a mom, you’re just happy they’re there,” she said. “But now, watching it through their eyes… I can’t wait for it every year.”
