Here’s why Louis will steal the show at Princess Kate’s big event

Mark your calendars, royal watchers: Princess Catherine’s beloved Together At Christmas carol service returns to Westminster Abbey this Friday, December 5, and once again it promises magic, music, and one very cheeky scene-stealer.

The Princess of Wales, 43, will host the star-studded evening alongside Prince William and (fingers crossed) their three children: Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and the undisputed king of royal mischief, Prince Louis, 7. Members of the wider Royal Family and the Middleton clan are also expected to attend.

Of course Catherine’s heartfelt initiative, now in its fourth year, will remain the emotional centerpiece, celebrating love, compassion and community. But let’s be honest, every year the cameras (and the nation) end up zooming in on one small person in the pews: Louis.

Whether he’s pulling faces on the Buckingham Palace balcony, conducting an imaginary orchestra during Trooping the Colour, or treating the Christmas carol concert like his own personal wonderland, the seven-year-old has perfected the art of going viral before he’s even old enough for secondary school.

Past highlights from Kate’s concerts include:

  • Louis wide-eyed and open-mouthed at the glowing candles and towering Christmas trees
  • Louis enthusiastically waving both hands like he’s flagging down a plane
  • Louis turning to Charlotte with that classic “are we done yet?” expression we all recognise

This year’s service is set to be especially moving after Catherine’s cancer journey, and little Louis, with his unfiltered joy and boundless energy, is almost certain to provide the perfect dose of light-hearted relief.

We’ll get our first glimpse through official photographs on Friday night, but the full ITV broadcast airs on Christmas Eve, when millions will settle in with mince pies and inevitably shout, “There he is!” the moment Louis pops up on screen.

If history is any guide, prepare for the internet to explode with memes, gifs, and collective “awws” before the final hymn has even finished. Prince Louis doesn’t just attend royal events; he hijacks them, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
