Their wingspan can reach up to 7 feet and 4 inches (224 centimeters). So, their wingspan might be bigger than your height! But they weigh only 8.5-20 pounds. (3.8 -9 kg).

You would not see them everywhere as they generally live in the upper canopy layer of tropical lowland forest.

They have been added to the list of endangered species in Central America due to their rapid destruction which is a result of deforestation.

Less than 50,000 of them can be seen over the world.

 

They eat larger prey than smaller birds. Their meals vary from monkeys, tree porcupines, sloths and coatis to birds, snakes, and lizards.
