Prince William is earning praise for the way he handled a child’s question about whether he was The King, with many admiring the level of “respect” he showed for his father.
As the royal family continues their busy start to the year with numerous public appearances, Prince William recently visited a school in Liverpool.
During his time at St Nicholas Catholic Academy, he was seen chatting with students, but one particular exchange caught attention for his thoughtful response.
Among the children was Mohammed, a curious year five student eager to meet the royal.
In a video now circulating on social media, Mohammed can be heard asking William: “Are you the king?”

In a heartfelt acknowledgment of his father, King Charles, the Prince replied with a smile: “No I’m not, I’m his son! What’s your name?”
Continuing the friendly exchange, William warmly asked his young new friend: “Nice to see you! You had a good day at school?”
But the highlight of the moment? Mohammed even managed to snap a selfie with the future King.
Social media users were quick to applaud William’s gracious response.
