Trump expected to invite Prince William to visit Washington during Starmer meet later this week

According to The Mail on Sunday, President Trump is set to extend an official invitation to Prince William for a visit to Washington when he meets with Sir Keir Starmer later this week.

Reportedly, Mr. Trump was highly impressed by the Prince of Wales when they crossed paths in December at the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Insiders close to the former president revealed that the two hit it off immediately, with Trump even inviting William to the White House at the time. However, due to diplomatic protocol, any formal visit must be arranged through official government channels.

One source shared: “President Trump very much enjoyed meeting Prince William in France. He was wowed by William and thinks he’s a great guy. He will officially invite both the Prince and Princess of Wales to visit Washington, but understands if the Princess of Wales’ health issues prevent her from coming.”

After their meeting in Paris, Mr. Trump had some compliments for Prince William, calling him “a good-looking guy”* and remarking, “He looked really very handsome.” He went on to say, “Some people look better in person. He looked great… he looked really nice and I told him that. We had a great talk.”

Looking ahead, Mr. Trump has promised to make another trip to the UK if he secures a second term as President.

During his official state visit in 2018, he made headlines for unintentionally stepping ahead of the late Queen Elizabeth, a move that went against Royal protocol.

A well-known admirer of British culture, Mr. Trump even keeps a high-end coffee table book filled with photographs from his UK visit aboard Air Force One.

His connection to Britain runs deep—his mother, Mary MacLeod, was born in 1912 on the Isle of Lewis, part of the Hebrides in Scotland.
