Nostradamus Predicted King Charles Will Abdicate Throne & Correctly Predicted Other Events

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, some people have turned to unexpected sources for insight into the future of the monarchy—one of them being Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies for the Future, a 2015 book by Mario Reading.

The book is said to have foretold the Queen’s death in 2022 and goes even further, suggesting that King Charles will eventually step down and be replaced by a man few would expect.

As reported by Wales Online, the book is described as “the only Nostradamus book on the market that deals exclusively with the French physician’s future prophecies,” based on Reading’s theory that Nostradamus’ quatrains are date-indexed and correspond to specific years.

The book has been credited in the past for predicting several major world events, including the 2007 assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the 2008 global financial crash, and the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris.

Reading explained his approach to interpreting Nostradamus’ writings: “There are a couple of quatrains that are really quite stunningly prescient and they were the ones I discussed at the time. I dated them, according to index dates, between two and three years out — but I think when I read them to you you’ll realise how specific they are.”

He cited one quatrain specifically: “Because of French carelessness and misunderstanding; the Mohamedens will find a way in. Blood will soak the Seine by land and sea; The Phocenesian port will fill with sails and vessels.”

Reading emphasized how clearly it seemed to describe an attack on Paris and noted, “Since the book came out, virtually every single quatrain has come nearly or completely true. I can really stand there and say, hand on heart, go and look at the early editions — nothing has changed.”

Reading also pointed to an older prediction, claiming Nostradamus foresaw the execution of Charles I in 1649: “There’s an extraordinary quatrain, index dated 49. Any historian will immediately know what I’m talking about when it says the English Parliament will put their king to death. Well, at the time that Nostradamus wrote this, in 1555, no Parliament had ever put their king to death. It had never occurred — and Charles I was beheaded in 1649.”

According to the author, the book also predicted Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and outlines a dramatic future for King Charles.

One particular verse, quatrain 10/22, reads: “Because they disapproved of his divorce, A man who later they considered unworthy; The People will force out the King of the islands; A Man will replace who never expected to be king.”

In a passage written back in 2005, Reading commented, “This Quatrain will come as no surprise to the British people and it has wide implications. The first is that Queen Elizabeth will die, circa 2022, at the age of around 96, five years short of her mother’s term of life.”

Reading suggested that King Charles would choose to abdicate after becoming “weary at the persistent attacks on both himself and second wife” and due to “resentments held against him by a certain proportion of the British population, following his divorce from Diana, Princess of Wales.”

Notably, the book also predicts that Prince Harry—not Prince William—will succeed King Charles. This part of the prophecy has sparked considerable intrigue, as it envisions a future that defies traditional royal expectations.

Although Mario Reading passed away in 2017, his son has acknowledged the surge of interest in the book. “It’s been completely incredible to see so many people discussing and sharing my father’s book.

It really was a labour of love for him to write, and if he was here today he’d be wonderfully proud that a number of his interpretations have come to fruition. I look forward to seeing what other predictions come true,” he said.
