Meghan Markle Opens Up in Emotional First Podcast Interview Since Royal Life

In her first podcast interview since marrying Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex offered a rare, heartfelt glimpse into her life as a mother, her relationship with Prince Harry, and her personal reflections on self-worth, family, and her new business ventures.

“I Want to Be Good at It”: Meghan on Motherhood

Meghan, 43, became emotional while reading a touching letter from her children, Archie and Lilibet, to close friend Jamie Kern Lima during the debut episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show.

“I’m just so proud of them,” she said tearfully, adding: “I really want to be good at it.”

She shared a deeply personal tradition—writing nightly emails to her children to read when they’re older. “I created for the kids these email addresses… that I will give them at some point. Before I go to bed, every night, I email them,” she explained, adding that she includes report cards and pictures, calling it her “love language.”

The letter she read from her children said:
“From Archie and Lili via Papa. We love your cooking. We love your pancakes and we love, love, love your hugs. You’re the best mummy and we love you.”

Meghan smiled as she noted: “So sweet. I also love that it’s ‘mummy’ instead of ‘mommy,’ which is very British.”

Letting Go of the “Prove It Game”

In the conversation, Meghan opened up about the pressure of constantly trying to prove oneself.

“We spend so much of our life trying to prove something… that you’re enough, pretty enough, smart enough, a good enough wife, or friend,” she said. “I was just so done with the prove it game. If you can’t see it, I don’t have to prove it to you. That’s your loss.”

She continued, “I know the kind of mum I am, the kind of friend and human being I am. Maybe part of worthiness comes when you stop having to feel like you’re in the prove-it game.”
