Prince William cheers on Lionesses with daughter Princess Charlotte at Euros 2025 final

Prince William attended the Women’s Euros final with his daughter, Princess Charlotte, showing their support for the England women’s team.

The Prince of Wales, 43, made the trip to Basel, Switzerland, with 10-year-old Charlotte to cheer on the Lionesses as they faced Spain in the tournament’s final on Sunday, July 27. Kensington Palace had previously confirmed William’s attendance, but fans were delighted to see Charlotte join him at the big event.

A Royal Father-Daughter Moment

On the day before the match, William released a message of encouragement, writing: “Good luck to the @Lionesses tomorrow. The nation is so proud you are through to the final after some stunning comebacks! We are all cheering you on! W.”

Then on Sunday, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram shared a touching photo of the royal pair. In the image, Charlotte smiles warmly while hugging her father. She wore a navy polka dot dress, while William opted for a black suit. The caption read: “Let’s go, @lionesses!”

Royal Fans React with Joy

Supporters were thrilled to see Charlotte making a rare public appearance with her dad. One person commented: “Such a beautiful picture and it’s wonderful to see Charlotte with her dad.”

Another wrote: “Charlotte takes after her dad so much! The genes are strong. Looks like a lovely day, go Lionesses!”

Someone else added: “Aww, what a beautiful picture. It’s so good to see Princess Charlotte attending this important match with her beloved dad today! Thank you for this wonderful surprise.”

Although Prince George, now 12, is more often seen at football matches with William, fans welcomed the unexpected appearance of Charlotte at this key event.

Charlotte’s Continued Support for the Lionesses

This isn’t Charlotte’s first time supporting the Lionesses. In 2023, both William and Charlotte appeared in a video message posted to social media ahead of the Women’s World Cup final.

In the clip, William shared: “Lionesses, want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow. We’re sorry we can’t be there in person but we’re so proud of everything you have achieved and the millions you have inspired here and around the world.”

He added: “So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves.”

Charlotte, holding a football in her hands, chimed in sweetly: “Good luck Lionesses!”

William’s Passion for Football

Prince William is known for his love of football, frequently attending matches, especially when it comes to his favorite team, Aston Villa. In 2024, he was officially named as patron of the Football Association, further highlighting his commitment to the sport.
