Kate Middleton and Melania Trump match in suede jackets during state visit

Crisp September skies with not a drop of rain — in England, no less — made the perfect excuse to pull out the suede.

On Thursday, Kate Middleton and Melania Trump seemed to share the same idea as they stepped out to meet the youngsters of the Scouts Squirrels program, both choosing suede jackets in autumn-ready shades.

The Princess of Wales, 43, wore an olive green cropped military jacket by Me + Em, styled with Ralph Lauren’s ankle-length Evilyn Birdseye Tweed Skirt ($2,025), a croc-effect leather belt, and a green silk scarf from Sudbury Silk Mills.

Gianvito Rossi tall brown suede boots gave her countryside look a polished lift, while Spells of Love Teardrop Charm Earrings ($125) added a touch of sparkle.

Melania, 55, opted for a caramel-toned Ralph Lauren suede safari jacket, pairing it with cropped Loro Piana trousers and Roger Vivier flats for an elegant yet relaxed look.

Fashion Highlights of the Week

This suede moment was just the latest in a series of standout fashion choices from both women.

On Wednesday evening, they dazzled at a state banquet — Trump in a bold, shoulder-baring yellow Carolina Herrera gown and Middleton in a romantic Phillipa Lepley lace creation.

Earlier that same day, the first lady made headlines during her Windsor walk with the Prince and Princess, donning a dramatic Dior couture disc hat with an ultra-wide brim.
