Prince Harry hit with major blow by dad King Charles despite recent reconciliation: report

Despite his recent reunion with King Charles III in the UK, reports suggest Prince Harry will not be allowed to rejoin the monarchy in any part-time role.

A royal insider told the Daily Mail: “The King is a forgiving man but has been absolutely clear in upholding his late mother’s decision that there cannot be ‘half-in, half-out’ members of the working royal family.”

Royal Sources Reject Speculation About a New Model

The same source dismissed claims that Harry’s four-day stay in Britain hinted at a new arrangement that would allow him to take on royal duties while still living in the US with Meghan Markle and their children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.

“Whoever is behind [the Sussexes] seems to have mistaken a brief tea and a slice of cake for the Treaty of Versailles,” the insider remarked.

Another source added: “These syrupy briefings from supposed Sussex sources are precisely why the King and Royal family are so hesitant to embark on any road to rapprochement. If the intention is to encourage a rebuilding of trust and relationships, they serve the precise opposite effect.”

Charles and William at the Forefront

The insider went on to highlight the importance of the King’s relationship with Prince William, referencing former President Donald Trump’s recent UK state visit.

“As last week’s State Visit clearly demonstrated, the power and impact of the modern monarchy lies in the unshakeable bond between The King and the Prince of Wales, supported by other working members of the family,” the source said.

When asked about Harry’s future role, his spokesperson told Page Six: “The Duke has made it clear that the focus, as it relates to his family, is his father — beyond that, and on any other issues as it relating to the Royal family, we won’t be commenting.”

Talk of Moving Back to the UK

During his visit, Harry also spoke with singer Joss Stone at the WellChild Awards. Stone, who recently relocated back to Britain, told Hello! magazine: “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children. It was nice to share that with him because it’s exactly why we felt drawn to come back.”

According to Stone, Harry appeared genuinely interested in the possibility of returning with Meghan and the children.

Enjoying His UK Visit

A spokesperson for the Duke confirmed to Page Six that Harry greatly appreciated his trip home: “He’s obviously loved being back in the UK, catching up with old friends, colleagues, and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him.”

Harry also had a private meeting with King Charles that lasted just under an hour, where he showed his father photos and videos of Archie and Lilibet.

Harry and Meghan announced their decision to step back from royal duties in January 2020. Since then, they have lived in Montecito, California, raising their family and building new ventures outside of the royal fold.
