Catherine and William Sent a Deeply Personal Message to Princess Anne on Her 75th Birthday — What They Said Made Her Cry and Left the Palace Speechless

Princess Anne celebrated her 75th birthday on Friday, and while much of the royal family joined commemorations for VJ Day, the Prince and Princess of Wales still found time to send a public message.

On their social media account, William and Kate reshared Anne’s official birthday portrait alongside the words: “Wishing Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal a very Happy 75th Birthday!”

Fans quickly praised the couple’s gesture. One described it as “a lovely and gracious post,” while others highlighted Anne’s elegance and wished her a “beautiful day.”

This is not the first time William and Kate have marked Anne’s birthday online. Last year, they shared a montage of photographs featuring moments from her life, including childhood snapshots with King Charles and joyful images from recent royal events.

To mark her special day, Buckingham Palace released a new portrait taken at Gatcombe Park by photographer John Swannell. The Princess Royal was pictured in a royal blue dress with white detailing, smiling beside a window at her Gloucestershire home.

Despite turning 75, Anne reportedly asked for little fuss, telling aides she prefers only to celebrate “the big zeros.” She is spending the day privately with her husband of 33 years, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, on their annual sailing holiday around Scotland’s Western Isles.
