Heartbreaking: Jennifer Garner shares the loss in California wildfires

Actress Jennifer Garner opened up about losing a close friend during the devastating California wildfires, a tragedy that follows the recent loss of her cherished father.

In an emotional interview with MSNBC’s Katy Tur, Garner shared her grief over the passing of a dear friend.

Alongside Chef José Andrés of World Central Kitchen, the actress has been actively assisting those impacted by the destructive LA fires.

“I lost a friend who didn’t make it out in time,” the 52-year-old actress shared. “It’s just — my heart aches for my friends. I can think of so many families, at least 100, and there are 5,000 homes gone.”

She reflected on her own safety amidst the destruction. “I almost feel guilty walking through my house,” she confessed. “What can I do? How can I help? What can I offer? What do I have to give with these hands, these walls, and the security I have?”

The Pearl Harbor actress continued: “I’m looking at the remains of a chimney belonging to someone I cared about. […] It’s devastating — almost impossible to comprehend.”

Jennifer Garner, deeply impacted by the loss of a friend in the California wildfires, shared how she used her celebrity status to collaborate with a chef and support those who lost everything in the devastating disaster that struck Los Angeles.

Don’t worry. We’ve got you,’” she said.

One of the victims was child actor Rory Sykes. His mother, Shelley, shared on social media that her son lost his life after the fires completely destroyed the cottage where he lived.
