Prince Harry and Kate Middleton once shared a strong and affectionate connection, a relationship that began to unravel after Meghan Markle entered Harry’s life.
The bond, once warm and supportive, took a turn for the worse after the Duke of Sussex stepped back from royal duties and made a series of shocking claims about the royal family—including Kate.
Now, a royal insider has suggested that Harry is considering a sequel to his tell-all memoir Spare, and this time, Kate could be the central figure in his narrative.
Royal Source: Kate May Be Harry’s Next Target
Speaking to Closer magazine, the source said, “There will be no turning back for the Sussexes. They will be in permanent exile. The details will be so damaging for the royal family that it could blow them apart.” The insider continued, “And this time Harry has apparently got his focus set on sister-in-law Kate Middleton…He has no allegiance there anymore.”
In his debut memoir, Harry made several pointed remarks involving Kate. He accused King Charles and Queen Camilla of harboring jealousy toward the Princess of Wales.
He also detailed a tense exchange between Kate and Meghan over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress before Harry and Meghan’s wedding. According to Harry, Kate was displeased with the dress fittings and allegedly insisted the dresses be redone, which led to Meghan crying.
Reflecting on the reaction within royal circles, the source explained, “The first book caused irreparable damage between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals, with senior figures said to be stunned by how many private and intimate moments Harry chose to share.”
They went on to say, “Harry himself has said he can write a follow-up, but it would mean he wouldn’t hear from his family again… no going back. Because they have already cut him off, he thinks, What’s the point in keeping it private?”
Harry Says He Has More to Say
Harry has openly acknowledged that there is still more of his story left to tell. In an interview with The Telegraph, he admitted that the original manuscript of Spare was around 800 pages—double what was ultimately published. He explained that it was impossible to tell his personal journey without involving his family members.
“There are some things that have happened, especially between me and my brother, and to some extent between me and my father, that I just don’t want the world to know,” Harry shared. “Because I don’t think they would ever forgive me. Now you could argue that some of the stuff I’ve put in there, well, they will never forgive me anyway.”
A Relationship Beyond Repair
Despite previously being devastated by news of Kate’s recent health struggles, Harry is reportedly no longer emotionally connected to her. This is a sharp contrast to his earlier sentiment, when he once referred to Kate as “the sister [he] had never had and always wanted.”
Though there have been reports that the Princess of Wales had hoped to make amends with Harry, the royal source suggested that it may be too late. “Their relationship has gone beyond repair at this point… It’s now just a game to [the Wales and Sussexes] to see who can one-up the other,” the insider concluded.
