Kate Middleton’s Ex-Assistant Takes Subtle Jab At Meghan Markle Before Stepping Down

Royal watchers recently got a rare look at Natasha Archer’s private world when her Instagram account was briefly made public.

Archer, who has worked with the royal family for over ten years and was even awarded a dynastic knighthood for her service, quietly opened the door to speculation—especially as news circulates that she may be leaving her royal post.

Signs of a Departure—and a Social Media Shift

Just ten days after reports surfaced about Archer’s plans to step away from royal duties, fans noticed subtle but telling changes to her Instagram account. The 37-year-old aide, often referred to as Kate Middleton’s right-hand woman, had quietly adjusted her following list—and people took notice.

An anonymous source shared with media outlets that Archer’s Instagram still followed key royal accounts, including those of Kate and Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla, as well as Princess Eugenie and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice’s husband.

Interestingly, she also followed Suits actresses Abigail Spencer and Sarah Rafferty, both known to be friends of Meghan Markle. But Markle’s own Instagram handle was notably missing.

No More Ties With Meghan’s Circle?

The insider added that Archer no longer follows several members of Meghan’s close-knit inner circle: makeup artist Daniel Martin, photographer and fashion influencer Delfina Blaquier, and wellness expert Heather Dorak. These quiet changes sparked headlines speculating that Archer’s unfollows were a subtle dig at Meghan.

However, some outlets suggested it could simply be a respectful gesture in light of the ongoing tension between Prince Harry’s side and the rest of the royal family.

So far, there has been no public statement from Archer, but Prince William and Kate are reported to have wished her the best as she moves on to new ventures.

A Career Shift After 15 Years

News broke on July 9 that Archer would be stepping away from royal service. After 15 years in the palace’s inner circle, it appears she’s ready to begin a new chapter.

Archer originally joined as a personal assistant to William and Kate in 2010. In 2022, she was promoted to Senior Private Executive Assistant, managing everything from Kate’s schedule and wardrobe to various royal projects, according to her LinkedIn profile.

In recognition of her work, she was awarded the Royal Victorian Order in 2019.

Not Everyone Understands Her Role

Still, not all social media users grasp the significance of Archer’s former job. One person commented, “I’m sure Kate can choose her own clothes… how hard is that?”

Another added, “If they had to hire Natasha, it sounds like Kate wasn’t getting it right all these years!”

And a third quipped, “After all those years of fashion advice, maybe it’s time Kate started dressing herself.”

While opinions online vary, it’s clear that Natasha Archer’s departure marks the end of an era for Kate Middleton’s inner circle. Whether fans understand her role or not, her quiet influence helped shape one of the most photographed women in the world—and the next chapter of her career is one to watch.
