Meghan has ‘manipulated’ Prince Harry, expert claims

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to lead lives distanced from the Royal Family, with little indication of reconciliation on the horizon. Despite speculation that the holiday season might bring the two sides closer, this year’s Christmas passed without any efforts at mending their relationship.

Ongoing Rift Between Harry, Meghan, and the Royal Family

The public and royal commentators have long debated the circumstances of Harry and Meghan’s departure from the Royal Family, with differing opinions on who bears responsibility. More than four years after their exit, rumors about troubles in their marriage have surfaced. However, Harry has swiftly dismissed such claims.

Reports last year suggested that Harry was exploring the possibility of a permanent residence in the UK while the couple reportedly purchased a property in Portugal. This raised questions about a potential royal reconciliation, though what either party desires remains unclear. Meanwhile, one royal expert has suggested that Meghan manipulated Harry, fueling further speculation.

Life in California and Professional Ventures

Since stepping back from royal duties, Harry and Meghan have established their home in Montecito, California, after a brief stay in Canada. Devoted to raising their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, they have also embarked on various professional ventures.

Their lucrative deals with Spotify and Netflix have garnered significant attention, though their Spotify partnership was ultimately canceled. Meghan has since shifted focus to her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, while Harry continues his work with the Invictus Games, a project he founded. Despite these endeavors, their independent appearances at public events have led to speculation about their relationship status, described by some as a “professional separation.”

Addressing Marriage Rumors and Media Intrusion

Harry recently addressed rumors of marital discord during the New York Times DealBook Summit, where he dismissed reports of separation and media-fueled narratives. Responding to interviewer Andrew Ross Sorkin, Harry said, “Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. It’s hard to keep up, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls.”

Reflecting on his lifelong experience with media scrutiny, Harry noted how public stories about his family—true or otherwise—had shaped his perspective. “I’ve had a lived experience since I was a kid,” he said. “I’ve seen stories written about myself that aren’t exactly based on reality, and I think when you grow up within that environment, you find yourself questioning the validity of the information.”

Challenges With Security and Royal Ties

Harry’s concerns about safety have also influenced his decisions regarding visits to the UK. Denied additional security for his family, he has refrained from returning home with his children. Royal expert Jennie Bond commented on Harry’s protective nature, linking it to the trauma of losing his mother, Princess Diana. “Who can blame him for being so protective about his wife and children?” Bond said, adding that his stance has strained his relationship with King Charles.

Meghan Markle’s Public Image

Initially welcomed as a refreshing addition to the Royal Family, Meghan’s popularity has significantly declined. Reports suggest that former allies, including David and Victoria Beckham, have distanced themselves from the Sussexes. Royal expert Ingrid Seward claims that Meghan’s return to the UK is unlikely, as public sentiment remains overwhelmingly negative.

“I don’t think Meghan will ever win over the UK public again,” Seward stated. “Maybe there’s a younger generation she might appeal to, but right now, people simply don’t like her.” She added that many in the UK see Meghan as the person who “took” Harry away from his family and encouraged him to criticize them publicly in his autobiography.

Public Perception and Future Prospects

The Sussexes’ brand has faced significant challenges since their departure from the Royal Family, with public interest often focused on their perceived missteps rather than their successes. Seward observed, “People are just not interested in them here, but they’re interested in reading about their demise.”

As Harry and Meghan navigate their lives away from royal obligations, their future—both personally and professionally—remains a topic of speculation. However, their efforts to distance themselves from the media frenzy and forge new paths continue to draw significant attention worldwide.
