Meghan Markle is reportedly preparing for her long-awaited comeback to acting—eight years after she stepped away from Hollywood.
According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex is joining the cast of Close Personal Friends, a new film featuring Jack Quaid, Lily Collins, and Brie Larson. Meghan will reportedly appear as herself in the story, which centers on two couples—one famous and one not. She was spotted on set in Pasadena, Los Angeles, where the Amazon MGM Studios production is currently filming.
A “Massive Moment” for Meghan
An insider from the production described this as a major milestone for Meghan. “This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves,” the source told the outlet, adding that the mother of two “has been swamped with offers but this one felt right.”
“It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set,” the insider explained, noting that everyone involved has been “super-excited” and “sworn to secrecy about her involvement.”

Prince Harry’s Full Support
The source also revealed that Prince Harry fully supports his wife’s decision. “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy,” they said.
Representatives for Markle have not yet responded to requests for comment.
From “Suits” to the Palace
Back in 2017, as her engagement to Prince Harry made global headlines, Meghan addressed her decision to leave Hollywood—where she had appeared in Remember Me, Horrible Bosses, and her breakout role in Suits.
“It’s a new chapter, right?” she said at the time, reflecting on her departure from Suits. “I’ve ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I’ve done there, and now it’s time to work with [Harry] as a team.”

A Warm Farewell from “Suits”
After Meghan announced her engagement, the Suits network released a statement celebrating her next step.
“From all of us at USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, we want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement,” the statement read. “Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best.”
Markle made her final appearance in the Season 7 finale in April 2018—just one month before her royal wedding in the UK.
In 2020, Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working royals and relocated to Southern California. Since then, the couple has built a new life in Montecito, where they are raising their two children—Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
Now, with her return to acting, Meghan appears ready to reconnect with her creative roots and rediscover the passion she once put on hold for royal life.
