Meghan Markle’s Disneyland Family Post Fuels More Backlash After “Cringe” Pregnancy Dance

Meghan Markle, often dubbed the princess people “love to hate,” is once again stirring public debate after sharing a video montage of her family at Disneyland in Burbank, California.

The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex, along with Prince Harry, 40, and their children—6-year-old Archie and 4-year-old Lilibet—were visiting the theme park to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday.

The video, set to Peggy Lee’s “It’s a Good Day,” shows the family enjoying rides and moments like Lilibet’s sweet interaction with Elsa from Frozen. Meghan captioned the post, “Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!”

Privacy Concerns Resurface

Despite the wholesome imagery, the post quickly reignited criticism around the couple’s stance on privacy. Meghan and Harry have long advocated for protecting their children from media exposure, often withholding public photos of them. In this post, the kids’ faces are obscured or shown from behind—but it wasn’t enough to silence skeptics.

Comments poured in accusing the couple of hypocrisy:

“Good they are happy but give it a rest. I thought they wanted ‘privacy’,” one user remarked.

Another said, “Was the park closed to the public to accommodate the privacy they strive to have?”

Others added, “Selling another picture to the paparazzi,” and, “Still trying to stay relevant.”

Some also questioned Harry’s security preferences, noting his calls for protection in the U.K. contrasted with public outings in the U.S. “It’s funny how Harry feels they need security in England but he doesn’t need security here in the US,” one commenter pointed out.

Supporters Draw on Princess Diana’s Legacy

Not all reactions were critical. Many users remembered Princess Diana bringing young Harry and William to Disneyland decades ago and celebrated the tradition being passed on.

“Harry and William were taken there by Princess Diana. Happy you had a great day with your kids,” one wrote.
Another added, “They are adorable! I’m glad Harry is experiencing this with his family. His mom would be proud.”

Some praised the family for prioritizing joyful moments: “As they should. They deserve all the happiness. Their children will grow up knowing what true happiness is.”

Recurring Criticism Over Social Media Activity

However, the backlash reflects a familiar pattern. Meghan’s social media posts—whether celebrating holidays or sharing maternal moments—often attract harsh reactions. When she posted about bonding with Lilibet, one commenter said:

“All about Meghan as usual… What she won’t do for attention.”

Another criticized her for blending personal milestones:

“Wishes herself Happy Mother’s Day same as the wedding anniversary, now kids’ birthdays. Can’t make anything special for anyone else.”

Meghan Defends Their Family Values

Meghan has frequently addressed her desire for privacy, especially concerning their children. In a CBS Sunday Morning interview, she explained:

“Our kids are young; they’re three and five. They’re amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them… we’re just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”

Earlier this year, in an interview with People magazine promoting her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, she reflected on motherhood and legacy:

“Being able to have my own little girl, as I’ve spent so much of my life championing the rights of girls and women… this is something I can create in front of my daughter and teach her what it’s like to be a working mom.”

She added, “Archie is of course included in that, my husband is of course included… this is something that hopefully can be part of her legacy too.”

Conclusion

Though Meghan and Harry’s family Disneyland trip was meant to mark a joyful celebration, it quickly turned into another battleground for their critics and supporters. As always, their effort to share personal family moments continues to ignite debates about privacy, relevance, and royal responsibilities in the digital age.
