STYLE IN THE DETAILS! How Princess Charlotte’s Wimbledon Look Echoed Her Mother’s Fashion, with Sweet Hidden Touches

Princess Charlotte made a subtle yet touching nod to her mother, the Princess of Wales, with her outfit at the Wimbledon 2025 men’s final.

The 10-year-old stepped out in a white summer dress that bore a strong resemblance to a style worn by Kate in 2022—and was designed by none other than Sarah Burton, the same designer behind Kate’s 2011 wedding gown.

Charlotte attended the match at Centre Court alongside Prince William, Princess Catherine, and her brother Prince George, 11. Though Prince Louis did not join them this time, his siblings helped represent the royal family in style.

A Dress Steeped in Meaning

Charlotte’s bespoke white frock featured delicate frills and black v-line stitching—subtle yet elegant details reminiscent of Kate’s own fashion choices. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton, now creative director at Givenchy, who also crafted Kate’s striking red State Banquet gown earlier in July.

Charlotte paired the dress with Camilla Elphick flats, Finlay & Co sunglasses, and eye-catching earrings. But it was her accessories—especially a silver Pandora bracelet—that offered the sweetest surprises.

Jewelry with Sentimental Value

Charlotte’s bracelet was adorned with carefully chosen charms. Among them: an eternity charm featuring a royal green gem, signifying her May birthstone, and a rose gold-plated charm of Nala from The Lion King, complete with green eyes.

A heart dangle charm, engraved with an unknown personal message, added a final personal touch. According to Pandora, such pieces are meant to carry a “heartfelt message for someone special” or “a personal stamp.”

Charlotte’s look drew clear inspiration from a 2022 ensemble worn by Kate at the Guards Polo Club in Egham, where she supported Prince William at a charity match.

That day, Kate wore a crisp ankle-length white dress with bold black detailing by Emilia Wickstead. Charlotte’s outfit echoed the same elegant color palette but adapted it into a more youthful version.

Royal fans were quick to point out and praise the sweet sartorial tribute. Once again, Charlotte proved herself a miniature fashion icon in the making—just like her mother.

A United Royal Presence at Wimbledon

The Wales family’s coordinated appearance at Wimbledon mirrored their previous showings of unity and poise. Kate, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club since 2016, appeared radiant in a blue dress and wore her signature “Wimbledon bow”—a brooch in the tournament’s purple and green colors. First worn in 2017, the bow signifies royal patronage, a role Kate inherited from the late Queen Elizabeth II.

As the 2025 final kicked off between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz—Charlotte’s favorite player—the young princess once again captivated audiences with her enthusiastic reactions, just as she did during last year’s final.

A Princess with Poise and Compassion

Kate’s presence at this year’s event was especially meaningful. She received a warm standing ovation as she entered the Royal Box—echoing the support she garnered in 2024, when Wimbledon marked her first solo appearance after her cancer diagnosis.

A day earlier, she had consoled a tearful Amanda Asiminova after the American suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Iga Swiatek in the women’s final—Wimbledon’s most one-sided final since 1911. Placing a comforting hand on Amanda’s arm, Kate told her, “Keep your head high,” in a moment that earned her widespread admiration.
