Donald Trump reveals why he won’t be deporting Prince Harry before making brutal one-word dig at Meghan Markle

Part 2 of 2

“I don’t want to do that,” he told the New York Post.

He then took the opportunity to throw a dig at Meghan Markle, adding: “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

Trump’s History with Meghan and the Royal Family

After taking a swipe at Meghan, Trump went on to praise Prince William, stating: “I think William is a great young man.”

Meghan has been openly critical of Trump in the past, calling him “divisive” and a “misogynist” while also supporting his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump previously faced backlash for allegedly calling Meghan “nasty,” a comment he made when a reporter informed him that she had once said she would move to Canada if he won the presidency.

In an interview with Good Morning Britain in 2019, Trump attempted to clarify his remarks, insisting that his words had been taken out of context.

“The question was asked to me, and I didn’t know that she said anything bad about me. It sounds like she did, and that’s okay—I mean hey, join the crowd, right?” he said (via ITV News). “They said some of the things that she said, and it’s actually on tape, and I said: ‘Well, I didn’t know she was nasty.’”

He continued: “I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty—I said she was nasty about me, and essentially, I didn’t know she was nasty about me.”

Despite the controversy, Trump softened his stance, adding: “She’s doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life.”

He further emphasized: “I think she’s very nice. Honestly, I don’t know her. So I have to be honest, I don’t know her, but it just shows you how terrible the news can be because if you read that—I’m sure you did—that was talking about nasty. She was nasty about me.”
