Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s ‘disgusted’ reaction at Wimbledon leaves people in disbelief

Prince George and Princess Charlotte sparked laughter and conversation across social media after attending the Wimbledon men’s final on Sunday, July 13, alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The young royals, aged just 11 and 10, watched the intense match between Jannik Sinner and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz from the prestigious Royal Box—and their reactions were impossible to miss.

Big Fans of Alcaraz

Both George and Charlotte are believed to be major fans of Spanish tennis star Alcaraz, who was ultimately defeated in four sets. As the match unfolded, it became pretty clear that they were rooting for him—and trying hard not to show their disappointment.

As more photos and videos from the day made the rounds online, fans couldn’t help but notice the kids’ somber expressions as the final point was scored. George’s reaction, in particular, went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with users joking that he might have had money riding on the outcome.

Trying to Stay Neutral—But Failing Adorably

Both children were seen with visibly downcast faces as the game ended, although they also seemed to be doing their best to remain composed and neutral—an early lesson in royal decorum, perhaps.

That effort at professionalism didn’t stop fans from laughing at a now widely shared video of the kids receiving signed tennis balls from Sinner, the newly crowned champion.

Fans Spot “Hidden” Disappointment

While the interaction seemed sweet, some social media users—especially Alcaraz supporters—were convinced the royal siblings were trying to suppress their true emotions.

“They clearly are not interested, just getting them signed because their mum asked,” one person wrote. “They too wanted Carlos to win.”

Another joked, “The head tilt in disgust is frying me,” while someone else said, “This is sending me—they’re not even hiding it,” complete with laughing emojis.

One user pointed out, “George isn’t even looking Sinner in the eye,” and another added, “Kids are still honest—they haven’t learned how to fake it yet.”

Others chimed in with, “Kids are not impressed,” and, “There’s something refreshingly real about them. In time, they’ll learn how to mask it like all royals do.”

A Heartwarming Moment Nonetheless

Still, not everyone bought into the fan theories. Many saw the interaction for what it was: a kind and genuine moment between a rising sports star and two young members of the royal family.

“He signed a tennis ball for the future king of England. That’s got to be the highlight of his life,” one X user wrote admiringly.

Another added, “That was so kind of Sinner to do.”

“Such a sweet gesture. Sinner’s not just a great player—he’s a genuinely good person,” someone else commented.

Thoughtful Older Siblings

One especially touching detail fans loved? George and Charlotte didn’t just collect signed balls for themselves—they made sure to bring one home for their younger brother, Prince Louis, age seven, who didn’t attend the match.

Kate was heard telling Sinner, “We brought one for their brother as well,” to which William joked, “Louis would be very upset otherwise.”

A fan summed it up perfectly online: “Loved how they took one for their brother back home.”
